Sonoma County farm landscape for Uptake Farms

About Uptake Farms

From Nigeria to Sonoma

Sustainable production growing in healthy soil

Founder

Vincent Ajayi built the model through practice

Before establishing Uptake Farms in Sonoma County, California, Vincent Ajayi ran a self-sustaining Black Soldier Fly farm in Nigeria.

Through that experience, he saw how Black Soldier Fly larvae can rapidly break down organic waste, reducing odor, bacteria, greenhouse gas emissions, and the pressure placed on landfills.

Uptake Farms brings that knowledge to the United States with a practical focus: upcycle pre-consumed ingredients that would otherwise be discarded and turn them into nutrient-rich animal feed and insect frass.
